Even though I am not in orchestra, I attended the concert. I enjoyed "Rites of Spring" the most. This was my favorite because I had heard this piece before played by my old high school's chamber orchestra. It brought back memories and it was interesting to hear another interpretation of it. I also enjoyed the piece that Michael Schelle had set out for the group. Especially since the symphonic band played another one of his pieces as well. Overall I enjoyed the concert and plan to attend many more.
ReplyDeleteI was in the orchestra on trumpet. I believe the concert went very well. My favorite piece was Beethoven's 2nd Symphony. I particularly enjoy his works and feel the 2nd Symphony doesn't get as much notice as the 5th or 9th. The Rite of Spring was very challenging to learn due to the constantly changing meter and contrasting styles. I am excited to see what we will be playing in the future.
ReplyDeleteI also like the 2nd Symphony. My favorite, though, is the 7th:

ReplyDeleteI went to the orchestra concert and was very impressed by how they all performed! Rite of Spring was amazing! Michael Schelle's piece was also fantastic! While listening you could easily picture the struggles and success the Wright Brothers went through.
ReplyDeleteThis is Jacque Bratcher by the way. Sorry it didn't show up when I commented!
DeleteI went to the orchestra concert. This was the first orchestra concert I have seen live. My favorite piece was Stravinsky's rite of spring. I really enjoyed the different sections of it.
ReplyDeleteI went to the orchestra concert. I was not in the concert. This was my second orchestra concert I have seen. I thought it was very amazing. The music choses were perfect for the theme. The rite of spring was my favorite piece. I liked this song because it had a lot of emotion and the instruments played like I never heard them before. I would gladly go again.

I went to the orchestra concert and I thought that it was so very well done! All of the performers were outstanding. My favorite piece was definitely the last one by Schelle. I could see the Wright Brothers in my head planning out their planes and flying them. It gave such an amazing visual image in my head.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the Rite of Spring. I got the amazing opportunity to meet Michael Schelle and his wife (The pianist). They are very inspiring and incredibly talented. I thought the orchestra concert was phenomenal. Of course, NSU has THE best music program.
ReplyDeleteI attended the orchestra concert. The concert took me by surprise because I am not one who goes to musical concerts. I actually enjoyed listening to the music and the Rite of Spring was absolutely amazing! This was the first concert I went to at Northern and it was great.
